I like the sound of that! Link will still be focused on saving Zelda, and it might take him a while to realize that Skyloft is no longer inhabited when/after it falls to the ground. I assumed not long after SS that the Skyloftians moved to the ground over the course of a few weeks to several years, that's how Hyrule is started and blah, blah, blah.
